High School Credit Change/Schedule Change

High School Credit Change

Last spring, the state legislature approved Senate Bill 6652 changing the number of credits required to graduate from high school. The change means our students now must earn 24-credits over their time here to graduate from Naches Valley High. The new requirements also include a third science credit, a second fine art credit, and two world language credits. To meet the challenges this poses for many of our students, the high school will be shifting to a “modified block” schedule to allow for more credits to be earned. The following is a list of frequently asked questions about next year’s schedule.
